12.4Showing planned maintenance

A maintenance window is a time range you book ahead, such as a database upgrade. Your status page shows your windows on its own. There is no setting for it on the status page form.

  1. Select alerting in the top navigation, then maintenance.
  2. Select new window, enter a name, the starts and ends times, and the monitors it covers.
  3. Select schedule.

Section 3.5 covers maintenance windows in full, including their limits and messages.

What visitors see#

  • A Maintenance section, shown only when there is at least one window to show.
  • For each window: its name, a tag In progress or Scheduled, and <start> UTC to <end> UTC · <services>.
  • <services> lists the public names the window covers, or all services for a window that covers all monitors.
  • While a window is in progress, covered services show Under maintenance. The overall line can read Under maintenance too (12.3).
  • Checks during a window do not count toward the 90-day uptime.

Which windows appear#

  • A window appears if it covers all monitors, or at least one monitor on the page.
  • A window that covers only monitors not on the page is not shown.
  • Windows that have ended are not shown.
  • Up to 20 windows are shown, soonest first.
  • Only your team's own windows are shown.

You cannot add a separate message for visitors to a window. The page shows only its name and times.
